서울의료원
2013년부터 서울의료원의 일부 병상에서는 '보호자 없는 병상'을 운영하고 있다. 이용대상자는 진료시 의사의 판단에 따라 결정되며, 입원일로부터 15일까지 사용 후 1주일 연장이 가능해 총 22일간 무료로 이용할 수 있다. 하지만, 정신질환, 장기재활, 중환자실 치료가 필요한 경우 의사의 판단에 따라 이용이 제한된다.
무의탁환자 무료 간병사업
민간차원에서는 우정사업본부에서 지역자활센터에 위탁수행하고 있는 '무의탁환자 무료 간병사업'이 있다. 적십자병원, 국립의료원, 북부노인병원, 동부시립병원, 서울대보라매병원, 녹색병원 등에서 이용 가능하다. 이용대상자에는 행려자, 노숙인, 독거노인, 외국인, 의료급여 1, 2종 수급자 등의 무의탁환자가 해당하며, 병원 의료사회사업실이나 동사무소 사회복지 전담 공무원의 추천을 받은 환자 중 간병이 필요한 환자를 대상으로 한다.
